Lloyds TSB Autolease presented with Skillmiles Gold Award
Lloyds TSB Autolease picked up a second award in two days at the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Annual Dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 10th March.
The first ever Skillmiles Recognition Awards took place on the night, and Autolease received a Gold Award in the large company category.
David Kershaw, Operations Director, fulfilled one of his life-long ambitions by collecting the award on behalf of the company at the ceremony.
The Skillmiles scheme was launched just over a year ago by the IMI as a pioneering way to recognise the support given to aid skills development across the automotive sector.
It enables the IMI, as a Professional Body and the Sector Skills Council, to demonstrate to the industry, employers and Government that many companies and individuals in our sector are making valuable contributions to raising skill levels, much of which had not previously been recognised on a national level.
The level of support received has been tremendous with participants from large, medium and small organisations in the programme and to date, 100,000 Skillmiles points have been awarded. With each skill mile worth £10, this is the equivalent of £1 million worth of support from across the sector for the benefit to the industry as a whole.
The recognition awards provide a meaningful way to acknowledge those efforts and pay tribute to those actively making a difference to the industry through their work and commitment to improving performance. An award was presented to the company with the highest number of points in each category.
