Superior support and guidance for Merseycare NHS Trust
While Mersey Care NHS Trust was generally satisfied with their main supplier of fleet vehicles, they were keen to determine if they would benefit from working with an approved PASA supplier.
Lloyds TSB autolease made a number of visits to Mersey Care in order to understand the Trust’s complex vehicle needs and to provide support and guidance in all aspects of their vehicle procurement.
Lloyds TSB autolease arranged meetings between their vehicle conversion partners and the Trust’s vehicle end users to discuss theoperational challenges and specification design. These visits were very beneficial as they enabled Lloyds TSB autolease to really appreciate the problems that the end users had experienced in the past and to develop ideas for alternative solutions.
Solihull Community Housing discovers the benefits of Contract Hire
Solihull Community Housing (SCH) is the Arms Length Management Organisation (ALMO) that runs the housing service on behalf of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC). It is run by a board made up of five tenants, five councillors and five independent members.
Previously SCH procured vehicle provision and maintenance contracts through SMBC’s Environment Services department. This arrangement made it difficult for them to get a service tailored to their needs.
Lloyds TSB autolease, which has an experienced team dedicated to meeting the needs of public sector organisations, was approached by the Eastern Shires Purchasing Organisation (ESPO) as an approved supplier under their framework agreement. ESPO had been appointed by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council to act as its procurement agent for the provision of approximately 50 vehicles.
Outsourcing delivers efficiencies for the University of Plymouth
In the past, the University had purchased all its vehicles outright and managed the fleet internally. Under this system, the maintenance, accident management, sourcing and disposal were all done in-house, taking up much of the fleet manager’s time and resource.
As the fleet grew older and the vehicles started to show signs of wear and tear, it became evident that operating the fleet was taking up too much time and becoming too costly. The University had several internal meetings and subsequently decidedto investigate other means of managing its vehicles. A business case was subsequently approved to move to a leased fleet.
A one-stop-shop in fleet management for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
The Council’s fleet was previously funded and managed by a local company, which had provided vehicles on contract hire with maintenance since 1999. In 2004, the contract for managing the Borough’s fleet was re-tendered through the Official Journal of the European Union.
After successfully winning the best value tender, Lloyds TSB autolease was appointed as sole supplier to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The Borough operates a fleet of 60 LCVs and 10 cars.
