About Skoda

Skoda is a car manufacturer from the Czech Republic that has made huge strides since being bought by Volkswagen in the 1990s.

As part of the Volkswagen Group, Skoda now has access to new engines and car parts – as well as the economies of scale that come with shared car production – and has been able to marry those new elements to Skoda design and innovation.

GreenLine models, Skoda’s eco-signature range, are low-CO2, low-consumption versions of existing models designed to appeal to high-mileage drivers such as business drivers and fleet managers.

GreenLine models are Euro V-compliant and use kinetic energy recovery and stop-start technology to reduce fuel use and carbon emissions. GreenLine models use the same technologies as Volkswagen’s Bluemotion models.

The Skoda range starts with the Fabia supermini – a car with individual styling and a strong range of engines. The Fabia is available as a three or five-door hatchback and is backed up by an award-winning advertising campaign that depicted a life-size version of the car made out of cake.

A hot hatch version of the Fabia is also available in the form of the Skoda Fabia vRS, equipped with a turbo petrol engine and DSG transmission.

Skoda also sells the Fabia Estate – an estate version of the supermini with more storage space.

The Skoda Roomster is pitched somewhere between an MPV and a compact SUV and offers more space than the Fabia, as well as typically high levels of Skoda build quality and affordability.

Meanwhile, Roomster Scout models offer 4x4 driving dynamics, adding off-roading ability to the Roomster range.

The Skoda Octavia is a hatchback that’s as long as most family saloons. Based on the Golf, the Octavia offers a good balance between ride and handling at extremely attractive prices, while GreenLine models should appeal to businesses and company car drivers.

Skoda also sells an estate version of the Octavia, offering increased space and practicality. An Octavia vRS version adds power and performance.

Skoda’s range-topper is the Superb saloon, a name that promises a lot and does not disappoint. The Superb is offered as a four-door saloon or as a large estate model. Both are lauded for the individual design, and the classic Skoda traits of economy and high quality.

As with the Octavia, a Skoda Superb Saloon is offered in vRS guise complete with a petrol V6 engine.

Skoda recently burst onto the crossover SUV scene with the Yeti. Available in two- and four-wheel drive models, the Yeti offers the ability of an off-roader with none of the stigma or financial penalty.

The Yeti has won plaudits for its styling and handling, and offers a strong range of efficient but capable engines.
