Nissan contract hire and car leasing

About Nissan

Nissan is a major Japanese motoring manufacturer owned by the Nissan Group – one of the largest organisations in Japan – and part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

Nissan sells 3.8 million vehicles worldwide and is one of the most successful Japanese manufacturers to break into the European market.

So far the manufacturer has sold over ten million vehicles in Europe. The UK is Nissan’s biggest European market and is home to the Nissan Sunderland plant, the largest car production facility in the UK.

The plant builds the Nissan Note, Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and Juke, and has produced over five million vehicles since it opened in 1986.

Production of the new Nissan Leaf electric car, including battery technology, will move to the Sunderland plant in 2012.

In 1999, Nissan entered into the first Japanese-French alliance when it signed a deal with Renault to share technology. Under the agreement, Nissan has access to Renault diesel technology in exchange for its petrol engine expertise.

Nissan competes in a variety of motorsports under the Nismo acronym.

Nissan expanded rapidly in Europe in recent years due to the success of its segment-crossing crossover vehicles designed for European customers.

About Nissan Contract Hire

Nissan arguably invented the crossover concept with the launch of the Qashqai in 2007 and since then has been an industry leader in creating spacious, practical cars offering the size and handling of a much smaller car.

All of Nissan's cars are produced around the philosophy of high build quality and tough materials.

The Nissan range of cars is particularly popular with contract hire customers because of the low costs associated with Nissan’s efficient range of engines.

At the lower end of the Nissan range, the Pixo city car and Micra supermini are straightforward small cars that are sufficiently comfortable on UK roads.

Nissan's small car range available to fleet and business leasing customers is supplemented by the Nissan Note mini-MPV, which boasts small dimensions but a surprisingly roomy interior.

The stylish, unique Nissan Cube offers distinctive styling made popular in its home market in Japan.

The five-door supermini-based Nissan MPV is an example of a car ideal for downsizers in terms of running costs and size, but offering plenty of passenger and load space in its box-like rear.

Moving up the range, Nissan’s range of crossover models starts with the five-door Qashqai hatchback and larger seven-seat Qashqai+2.

The smaller Nissan Juke crossover was introduced in 2010 to provide a more spacious and stylish option to small car buyers. Fleet operators will enjoy the SUV design but small-car efficiency of the popular Juke.

At the top of the crossover range, the Nissan Murano is a five-door SUV offering four-wheel drive for extra control in poorer conditions.

The Nissan X-Trail is a rugged SUV that will appeal to cost-conscious business users, while the 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder and the workhorse Nissan Navara pickup are the largest models in the range.

The company will also roll out the all-electric Nissan Leaf in 2011, a hatchback-sized model powered by electric batteries attached to an electric motor.

Nissan's range of small cars, crossover vehicles and larger MPVs provide innovative, reliable solutions to all fleet and business needs and the range of efficient engines and generous equipment levels will please fleet operators and private buyers alike.
